Dermatology

Dermatology is the science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of skin and mucosal diseases. Hair and nail diseases, defined as skin appendages, are also of interest to dermatology. Another issue that dermatology deals with is ‘venereal’, i.e. ‘Sexually Transmitted’ diseases.

Common dermatological diseases include; Skin Infections (fungal diseases of the skin, warts, tangles…), Sebaceous Gland Diseases (acne, dandruff on the scalp…), Allergic Skin Diseases (atopic eczema, contact allergies, insect bites…), Drug Reactions, Urticaria (Hives), Psoriasis ( Psoriasis), Vitiligo (Ala disease), Skin Tumors, Non-advanced burns, Hair Diseases, Nail Diseases, Excessive Sweating, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (Syphilis, genital warts…).
